Phoenix

The city of Phoenix is the capital and also the most populous city of the state of Arizona. The city of Phoenix is also the fifth most populous city in the United States of America, it is the only state capital with a population of more than one million residents. On February 14th, 1912  Phoenix was the official capital of the Arizona territory.

  • Musical Instrument Museum: The city of Phoenix has one of the largest musical instrument museums, that has a collection of 6,800 musical instruments from 200 countries. The museum also has five permanent galleries like Geographic Gallery, the Artists Gallery, the Mechanical Music Gallery, the STEm Gallery and the Experience Gallery (the visitors can play musical instruments).

  • Taliesin West: Taliesin West is the winter home and architecture school of the celebrated architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The Taliesin West is located at the foothills of McDowell Mountains. The Frank Llyod Wright School of Architecture is located at the same place. The buildings are constructed out of native materials like rubble stone and redwood.
  • Desert Botanical Garden: Desert Botanical Garden is located in Papago Park, which offers a combination of art and nature. The property is 140 acres complex, that houses tens of thousands of plants and other vegetation from deserts from the world over. The garden attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.
  • Heard Museum: The Heard Museum is devoted to the art and culture of the Native Americans from the southwest.

  • Phoenix Zoo: The zoo is home to 1,400 animals has a wide range of species and endangered species like Sumatran tigers and orangutans. The Zoo is also famous in offering children programs to the guests, a petting zoo. And also a 4D theatre, that lets you experience water, smell and wind effects.
  • Arizona Science Centre: The science center has about hundred of exhibits, divided into seven galleries, along with IMAX theatre and 200-seating capacity planetarium.
  • Arizona State Capitol Museum: The building was built in 1900 and was used for official purposes till 1974. The Capitol building is surrounded by a beautiful garden, currently used as a museum to focus on the history of the state of Arizona. The museum is spread across four floors and the must-see display is the state flag of Arizona made out of 113,988 LEGO bricks.
  • Phoenix Symphony: Symphony Hall dedicated to the performance of classical, pops, chamber and family programs. The events take place from September to May. The hall is located in Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Centre.
